Position Overview:

 

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida. We are seeking to hire Government Operations Consultant II who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program.  This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team-based work environment.

 

This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Program Finance (MPF).  MPF manages and projects Florida’s $34.5 billion Medicaid Services budget, oversees financial reporting of the Agency’s contracted Medicaid health plans, calculates both institutional and non-institutional Medicaid reimbursement rates, and disburses supplemental payments to Medicaid providers.

 

This position is responsible for monitoring the financial and banking functions performed by the fiscal agent contractor to ensure appropriate payment of Medicaid claims.  The incumbent will review operations of the Florida Medicaid Management Information System (FMMIS) for compliance with contractual documents and identify financial system discrepancies to provide resolution of problems.  This position will assist in defining and conducting internal audits to monitor the fiscal agent operations and ensure fiscal agent processes are operating in an efficient and effective manner and develop work papers and responses necessary to address financial audit questions, findings, and reports.

 

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the Medicaid Program.

 

This position will start at the base rate of $1,645.27 biweekly/non-negotiable.

 

This position is not a remote or telework position; it will have to report to a Field Office or the Headquarters in Tallahassee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

- Three years experience related to banking, mathematics, accounting, auditing, or financial analysis.

- Four years professional experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

- One year professional experience working with accounting systems or financial databases. 

 

Preference will be given to applicants with Medicaid, FMMIS, and/or contract management experience:

- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in a business-related field such as accounting, finance, or mathematics being highly preferred.  Experience can also be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
