Position Overview:

 

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida.

We are seeking to hire Records Technician who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. 

This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team based work environment.

 

This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Fiscal Agent Operations (MFAO).

MFAO serves as the primary organizational unit within the Agency to provide oversight and monitoring of the Agency’s Medicaid fiscal agent; responsible for the processing of Florida Medicaid claims and multiple supporting systems; ensuring Medicaid providers are properly enrolled into the program, Medicaid recipients receive proper coverage, enrollment into managed care plans; extracting, analyzing, and/or reporting Medicaid data; and ensuring that new Agency systems are planned and procured.

 

This position is responsible for provider file, organized research and reporting techniques, and internal logging systems. 

An individual in this position is preferred to be familiar with the FMMIS functions related to provide reenrollment and eligibility. 

This position supports the Provider Enrollment, Compliance Reporting and Claims Encounter Support, Recipient File Management and Finance and Banking Operations Units. 

Locates and retrieves files using policy guidelines concerning public access and use of materials.

Works within the State of Florida's Correspondence tracking Center, Corrflow to provide requested documentation to the Agency after inspecting materials or files for accuracy, legibility, redaction, or damage.

Receives and processes letters to FMMIS.

Performs requested activities for Provider Enrollment Unit, Recipient File Management Unit, Systems Units and Compliance Reporting and Claims Encounter Support Unit to include mail outs, copying information for meetings and projects etc.

Submits Monthly Report showing activities completed during the month.

Maintains the bureau and fiscal agent correspondence log/book.

Create a working desk level manual for procedures with the Admin. Unit.

Preference will be given to someone with redaction and Microsoft Products experience.

Other Duties as assigned to include coverage for the Administrative Secretaries as needed.

 

This position is not a remote or telework position; it will have to report to a Field Office or the Headquarters in Tallahassee.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and workplace terminology.

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Ability to provide business etiquette when answering calls and to provide polite, helpful, professional customer service to callers. The job requires dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress callers.

Ability to independently conduct research and gather information. The job requires analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.

Ability to work with a variety of personalities. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Two years of clerical experience.

 

Preference will be given to the candidate with a high school diploma or its equivalent.
