Position Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida.

We are seeking to hire a Government Operations Consultant III who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. 

This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team based work environment.

 

The Division is led by the Deputy Secretary for Medicaid and supported by Assistant Deputy Secretaries, who together form the core leadership team guiding the program’s direction.

Their collective focus spans policy development, quality oversight, and operational management, ensuring that Medicaid services are delivered effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with state and federal requirements.

By coordinating strategic planning, monitoring program performance, and driving continuous improvement, this leadership group plays a central role in shaping a Medicaid system that is responsive, accountable, and committed to improving health outcomes for the individuals and families it serves.

 

This position is responsible for tracking policy initiatives, deadlines, and deliverables for the Assistant Deputy Secretary, helping coordinate cross‑bureau communication related to policy development and quality improvement projects, scheduling and managing meetings, including agenda preparation and distribution, and also providing backup support to other assistants within the bureau when needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

• Three (3) years of administrative/office clerical work experience.

• Three (3) years of experience managing a calendar/schedule.

• Three (3) years of experience with Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

• Three (3) years of experience with Statewide Travel Management System.

BACKGROUND SCREENING

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration that any applicant being considered for employment must successfully complete a State and National criminal history check as a condition of employment before beginning employment, and, if applicable, also be screened in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, F.S., and Chapter 408, F.S.  No applicant may begin employment until the background screening results are received, reviewed for any disqualifying offenses, and approved by the Agency.  Background screening shall include, but not be limited to, fingerprinting for State and Federal criminal records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and may include local criminal history checks through local law enforcement agencies.
