POSITION DESCRIPTION:    

This is a high-level technical & strategic position within the Division of Information Technology.

This position is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems and software for the Agency.

This position works as part of the database administration, licensing, datamart, and reporting team.

 

Develops reports using a variety of different software such as, SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau, Cognos, Power BI, and other reporting tools.

Assists the business units in determining their reporting and licensing system needs.

Facilitates meetings to form a collaboration between the business units and technical staff.

 

Monitors nightly scheduled database jobs and takes action when failures occur.

Reports root causes for failures to the Data Processing Manager.

 

Leads the team in maintaining, supporting, and upgrading the licensing system, Versa Regulation (VR) and its platform.

Assists the team in helping business users in writing letters, writing reports, configuring system rules, and defining new processes, as required.

This position works with subordinate staff to manage work tasks and projects and assist as required.

 

Maintains and supports the Licensing data in the Oracle datamart, the SQL datamart, and any other IT data store.

Assists with the design of the data structure in the database.

Writes complicated SQL queries and modifies existing views, stored procedures, and functions to pull data from Oracle and SQL server databases.

Coding includes writing insert and update statements for Versa Regulation tables, and Florida Health Finder set up data.

 

Participate as a key member of the disaster recovery team.

 

Prepare reports to inform the Data Processing Manager, management, and users on the status of current projects and tasks.

 

Ensures product and solution quality by following the Bureau's standards and procedures and industry best practices.

Works to ensure that solutions are reliable, usable, maintainable, and secure.

Keeps the development standards and procedure documents up-to-date. 

Completes AHCA IT Information System Development Methodology (ISDM) documentation as needed for system documentation purposes.

 

Researches and attends trainings to keep up with new and emerging technologies.

Maintains a sufficient technical skill level to perform required work tasks.

Works closely with other team members and contributes ideas and solutions to create synergy within the team members.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of  Reports, Versa Regulations, Oracle and MS SQL Databases.

Knowledge of data warehouse operation and design principles.

The ability to troubleshoot Versa and database errors to identify underlying problems.

Good presence when working with business units and end users, including strong communication skills.

Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

•A minimum of 3 years of database querying experience.

•A minimum of 2 years of experience developing reports.

•A minimum of 3 years of experience working with databases, spreadsheets, word documents, and data analyzing tools.
