Position Overview:

 

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida.

We are seeking to hire a Government Analyst II who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. 

This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team based work environment.

 

This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Fiscal Agent Operations (MFAO).

MFAO serves as the primary organizational unit within the Agency to provide oversight and monitoring of the Agency’s Medicaid fiscal agent; responsible for the processing of Florida Medicaid claims and multiple supporting systems; ensuring Medicaid providers are properly enrolled into the program, Medicaid recipients receive proper coverage, enrollment into managed care plans; extracting, analyzing, and/or reporting Medicaid data; and ensuring that new Agency systems are planned and procured.

 

This position is responsible for :

-Coordinating, training, and managing issues related to managed care, encounter data research and analysis.

-Providing consultative services to the Senior Management Analyst Supervisor, AHC Administrator, and the Chief of Medicaid Fiscal Agent Operations.

-Serving as a Medicaid Fiscal Agent Operations point of contact for Encounter issues and questions submitted from Agency staff and external providers and comanaged care plans.

 

A skills test may be conducted at the interview.

 

This position is not a remote or telework position; it will have to report to a Field Office or the Headquarters in Tallahassee.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Experience and knowledge of FL MMIS Encounter data and EDI Processing.

Experience in FL Medicaid or equivalent Health Care Systems.

Ability to operate independently, reasonably, and divisively with limited supervision.

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to all levels of management in order to analyze encounter issues and to deliver effective presentations.

Ability to lead Encounter data workshops for Managed Care Plans to communicate decisions and guidance.

Ability to draft, review, interpret and monitor encounter claims submission requirements.

Knowledge of state and federal health care procedures, programs and regulation.

Working knowledge of and familiarity with MS Office products.

Ability to work in a team environment and lead team members to produce successful outcomes.

Ability to travel with or without accommodations.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Three years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering or administrative work.

 

A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.

A master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university can substitute for two years of the required experience.

 

-Preference given for Medicaid or similar health care work experience.

-Preference given for Medicaid encounter or claims data work experience.
