The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity.
The Agency is responsible for administering the Florida Medicaid program, the licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowering consumers through health care transparency initiatives.
Under the direction of Agency Secretary Shevaun L. Harris, the Agency is focused on advancing Governor Desantis' vision for Florida's health care system to be the most cost-effective, transparent, and high-quality health care system in the nation.
The Work You Will Do:
The Long-Term Care Services Unit (LTCSU) is seeking to hire a Human Services Program Specialist who is dependable, flexible, and can thrive in a work setting that requires attention to detail and managing time sensitive tasks.
The position's hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Adjustments to the hours may be made to accommodate an employee upon request.
The work unit is responsible for regulating health care providers and facilities.
The primary duties of the position are focused on processing licensure applications for providers regulated by the Long-Term Care Services Unit within the Division of Health Quality Assurance, Bureau of Health Facility Regulation.
Additional duties include interpreting statutes and administrative rules, operating database management and document management systems, and responding to inquiries verbally and in writing.
Process licensure applications, including correspondence to providers.
Review licensure materials for completeness.
Track licensure process.
Maintain data regarding licensure in the appropriate database.
Coordinate with Field Offices in regards to timely and accurate data.
Assist professional staff in meeting timely deadlines for submission of information relating to facility and provider licensure.
Provide licensure information regarding long-term care facilities and providers to the public and agency staff when requested by professional staff.
Produce statistical reports as required/requested.
Monitor quality assurance reports weekly/monthly.
Serve as back-up liaison to Unit staff for the document management system/Versa Regulation workgroup.
Prepare licensure and certification documents for scanning in the document management system.
Assist with quality assurance activities for document management system.
A good attendance record is essential for any individual in this position as the work involved occurs daily and is time-critical.
The individual in this position is expected to report to work daily and on time.
Leave must be requested in advance except in emergency circumstances not under the control of the employee.
This position will be hired at the base salary of $1,471.70 biweekly and is nonnegotiable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of state statutes, administrative rules, federal regulations which govern health care facilities licensed and certified by the LTCSU.
Knowledge and ability to access Versa Regulation, Online Licensure, ASPEN and other computer software.
The ability to train and communicate effectively in writing and verbally, to include public speaking.
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers and other Agency staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Two (2) years of professional or nonprofessional experience working in a regulatory or administrative health care setting with data entry and customer service experience.
An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience as described above.
