Position Overview:

The incumbent in this position processes licensure documents for health facility providers' initial, change of ownership, renewal, and change during licensure applications, to include communications with applicants and other Agency personnel.

The incumbent reviews documentation meticulously toward a decision to approve, deny or withdraw the application for licensure.

The person in this position must have the ability to pay strict attention to detail, be well versed in computer software and technology, have excellent customer service skills, and effective skills in time management.

Incumbent must be skilled in data input, reading comprehension, and writing.

 

A good attendance record is essential for any individual in this position as the work involved occurs daily and is time-critical. 

The individual in this position is expected to report to work daily and on time. 

The position’s hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m. 

Adjustments to the hours may be made to accommodate an employee upon request.

Leave must be requested in advance from management, except in emergency circumstances not under the control of the employee.

 

This position will be hired at the base salary of $1,794.92 Biweekly and is non-negotiable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

•Knowledge of state statutes, administrative rules and survey tags that regulate and monitor health facility providers

•Knowledge of and ability to operate within various software programs such as Microsoft Office, Aspen, Versa, and Laserfiche

•Knowledge of and ability to access state rule within the Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code

•Knowledge of and ability to initiate Agency activities related to bill analysis and rule writing

•Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, including participation in group meetings

•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers

•Skill in managing a challenging workload in an efficient manner assuring that statutory time frames are met

•Ability to work independently

•Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques

•Ability to understand and effectively apply both Agency and Bureau rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

•Two (2) years of professional health care licensure, regulation and/or certification experience, or

•Two years of professional experience relating to health care delivery or health care administration, or

•Three (3) years of nonprofessional health care licensure, regulation and/or certification experience.

 

Preference will be given to applicants with:

A bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university with one of the following:

One or more years’ experience working as a licensed health care professional, or professional experience in health care administration, health care planning, or other health, rehabilitation or social service program; two or more years’ experience technical writing; two or more years’ experience interpreting statutes and administrative rules.
