This is a highly responsible professional position in the Florida Center for Health and Transparency. 

The incumbent functions as a member of a cooperative team that is responsible for the development, coordination, security, and dissemination of health care data to promote transparency and empower consumers in making well informed healthcare decisions.

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Develops policies for data updates on transparency websites and assists in maintaining health outcomes, performance, and information. 

Performs data querying, manipulation, and quality checks related to health outcomes and methodologies. 

Provides technical and professional advice and assistance to improve the efficiency of data dissemination activities through technological improvements and periodic review of data dissemination procedures.

 

Lead Coordinator of the Florida Center Confidential Data Review Committee. Ensures the Agency is compliant with dissemination of confidential data per the Agency’s HIPAA policies and applicable state and federal laws.

Maintains and updates the Florida Center Security Manual annually per the Agency’s data security and privacy rules.

 

Provides technical assistance to facilities and consumers regarding the display and methodology of various health outcomes and measures. 

Maintains knowledge of various health databases and data query tools, enhancing data dissemination efficiency through technological improvements. 

Performs assigned research support and special tasks. 

Abstracts data from existing systems to create comprehensive datasets and communicates findings in accessible formats.

 

Keeps detailed knowledge of relevant health care statutes and policies. 

Identifies personal needs for computer and other training and seeks and attends needed training. 

Actively participates in staff meetings and training seminars.

Performs work in a timely manner, meeting all interim and final due dates. 

Performs other duties as requested.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional work experience in data analytics.

• 3 years of professional work experience in database management.

• 3 years of professional work experience in health care data privacy and security.

• 3 years of professional work experience in health care administration.

• 3 years of professional work experience using SPSS, Quadrant, and Microsoft Excel, including advance skills and knowledge of Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, If statements, and formatting for publication.

 

A good attendance record is essential for any individual in this position as the work involved occurs daily and is time critical. 

The individual in this position is expected to report to work daily and on time. 

Leave must be requested in advance except in emergency circumstances not under the control of the employee.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The position requires skills in managing health care transparency data analysis and dissemination to consumers and for publishing to agency websites and tools, developing policies for updates, providing technical assistance, maintaining regulatory knowledge of health care databases and relevant health care statutes and policies and meeting scheduled deadlines. 

It also includes having knowledge of confidential data security and privacy rules.

Must maintain professional development and include performing other duties as requested.
