Position Overview and Responsibilities
This position serves as the Enterprise Job Scheduling Administrator for the Technical Architecture Unit, in the Office of Florida Health Care Connections (FX) at the Agency for Health Care Administration.
The Enterprise Job Scheduling Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's enterprise job scheduling environment. This role ensures that batch processes, automated tasks, and scheduled jobs across various systems and applications are executed reliably and efficiently. The Enterprise Job Scheduling Administrator works closely with FX solution partners to develop, implement, and troubleshoot job schedules, ensuring that critical processes are completed on time and without error. This position reports directly to the FX Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
• Job Scheduling Management:
o Manage and maintain the enterprise job scheduling platform, ensuring all scheduled jobs run accurately and on time.
o Develop, configure, and modify job schedules to meet the needs of various departments and applications.
o Prioritize and sequence jobs to optimize resource utilization and meet service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
o Continuously monitor the job scheduling environment for any delays, failures, or performance issues.
o Troubleshoot and resolve job failures, working with relevant solution partner teams to address underlying issues.
o Implement failover and recovery procedures to minimize disruption in case of job scheduling failures.
• Process Optimization:
o Analyze job schedules to identify inefficiencies or conflicts and recommend optimizations to improve performance.
o Automate manual tasks and batch processes where possible to enhance efficiency and reduce the potential for errors.
o Collaborate with solution partners and stakeholders to optimize job schedules for system performance.
• Change Management:
o Manage intake process and job scheduling changes, ensuring they are thoroughly tested and documented before implementation.
o Coordinate with change control board, business owners, and solution partners to implement scheduling changes with minimal impact on operations.
o Maintain version control and rollback procedures for job schedules to ensure stability.
• Tool Management:
o Administer and maintain the job scheduling software, including updates, patches, and configurations.
o Evaluate and recommend new job scheduling tools or enhancements to existing systems as needed.
o Develop and maintain custom scripts and automation tools to extend the functionality of the job scheduling platform.
• Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain comprehensive documentation of job schedules, including dependencies, timing, and success/failure criteria.
o Generate regular reports on job execution performance, highlighting any issues or trends for management.
o Document and update procedures for job scheduling and troubleshooting to ensure consistency in operations.
• Security and Compliance:
o Ensure job scheduling practices comply with internal policies and external regulations, such as HIPAA and NIST guidelines.
o Implement access controls and audit logging within the job scheduling environment to maintain security.
o Assist in audits and compliance reviews related to job scheduling activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Relevant certifications in job scheduling tools or IT management.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components and how they interact with job scheduling processes.
Minimum Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in IT administration, with a focus on job scheduling or batch processing.
Preferences
• Preference for experience in healthcare, government, or other regulated industries.
• Preference for familiarity with compliance standards such as HIPAA, FISMA, or NIST.
• Preference for certifications in job scheduling or IT administration.
• Preference for a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Preference for proficiency with enterprise job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler, Autosys).
• Preference for the ability to write and manage scripts for job automation (e.g., Python, Shell scripting).
