Position Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida.
We are seeking to hire IT Service Migration Coordinator who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team based work environment.
This position is located in the Office of FX Program Administration (FX). FX is a multi-year transformation to modernize the current Medicaid technology using a modular approach, while simultaneously improving overall Agency functionality and building better connections to other data sources and programs.
This position is responsible for leading the transition of IT functions that are provided by contract to internal Agency operations. This role ensures continuity of services, effective knowledge transfer, and operational readiness while maintaining compliance with enterprise standards.
Transition Planning & Execution
• Develop and manage detailed transition plans for systems, vendors, and operational processes.
• Coordinate onboarding, shadowing, and knowledge transfer activities between teams.
• Oversee the ramp-down of vendor services and ramp-up of internal capabilities.
• Translate between proposed capabilities and technical requirements
System & Service Integration
• Manage integration of APIs, file transfer interfaces, and single sign-on systems between agency and vendor platforms.
• Support coordination of infrastructure and platform operations, including job automation, security logging, and database services.
Operational Oversight
• Ensure continuity of service during transition through dual-role staffing and risk mitigation strategies.
• Track and report on transition milestones, staffing readiness, and system performance.
• Identify and escalate operational and architecture gaps or duplication
• Validate documentation, standard operating procedures, and runbooks for post transitions support.
• Conduct readiness assessments to confirm operational readiness.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as liaison between vendors, internal IT, and program leadership.
• Communicate enterprise information technology architecture to stakeholders.
Post Transition Support
• Oversee stabilization period after transition completion.
• Monitor service performance and ensure SLA adherence.
• Drive continuous operational improvements based on lessons learned.
This position is not a remote or telework position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of IT service transition methodologies and vendor offboarding practices in enterprise or public sector environments.
- Skill in coordinating cross-functional teams to execute complex migration plans with minimal disruption.
- Ability to manage and document technical integrations, including APIs, authentication systems, and data transfers.
- Skill in communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Ability to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies during service handoffs and operational transitions.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of experience managing large IT service transitions.
- 3 years of experience in vendor management.
Preferences
- Experience managing large-scale IT transitions or vendor offboarding.
- Familiarity with enterprise ITSM tools, DevOps practices, and release management.
- Understanding of public sector IT environments, particularly in health or human services.
• Proven ability to manage hybrid teams and vendor contracts.
- Project management and FCCM credentials preferred.
