Position Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida.

We are seeking to hire an OPS Clerk Specialist who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. 

This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team based work environment.

 

This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Program Finance (MPF). 

MPF manages and projects Florida’s $34.4 billion Medicaid Services budget, oversees financial reporting of the Agency’s contracted Medicaid health plans, calculates both institutional and non-institutional Medicaid reimbursement rates, and disburses supplemental payments to Medicaid providers.

 

This position is responsible for tracking information requests, cost reports, and preparing letters and memos for internal and external customers.

 

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

- Required to be proficient in word processing for majority of office typing; this includes routine correspondence, as well as charts, forms, mailing lists, reimbursement plans, special projects, etc.

- Pull files (hard copy & electronic) for requesters (CPA firms, auditors, etc.)

- Receives and reviews all outgoing correspondence and documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.

- Backup to Administrative Secretary

- Acts in a public relations capacity in representing the Nursing Homes Section to persons by telephone or in person.

- Functions as a liaison with staff members of other agencies, professional associations, and providers; follows up on projects assigned to the Nursing Homes Section to ensure timely completion and to facilitate advising Regulatory Analyst Supervisor of project status.

- Assistance in providing audit documentations to the contracted vendors.

- Ensures the continuity of work and exercises independent judgement in order to meet deadlines on actions relating to the Medicaid program.

- Reviews and distributes Agency and Medicaid policy, regulatory, and procedural documents.

- Archiving (sending and receiving documents).

- Assistance with completing corrflows if needed.

 

Performs other duties as necessary.

 

This position will be filled at a salary of $18.00 per hour and is non-negotiable.

 

This position will report to the Headquarters in Tallahassee.

 

This position is not a remote or telework position.

What is OPS employment?

OPS employment is a temporary employer/employee relationship used for accomplishing short term or intermittent tasks. OPS employees are at-will employees and are subject to actions such as pay changes, changes to work assignments, and terminations at the discretion of the Agency head or designee. OPS employees do not serve probationary periods or become permanent in their positions because they serve at the pleasure of the Agency head.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Two years of administrative or clerical experience.

One year of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

 

Preference will be given to candidates who have an Associates Degree from an accredited college.
