Position Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida.
We are seeking to hire an OPS Administrative Secretary who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program.
This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team based work environment.
This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Program Finance (MPF).
MPF manages and projects Florida’s $34.5 billion Medicaid Services budget, oversees financial reporting of the Agency’s contracted Medicaid health plans, calculates both institutional and non-institutional Medicaid reimbursement rates, and disburses supplemental payments to Medicaid providers.
This position is responsible for complex and significant secretarial work assisting the Regulatory Analyst Supervisor and other staff in the Supplemental Payments Unit of the Medicaid Program Finance Bureau.
Independent judgment and initiative are required to solve problems encountered.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Assists in the maintenance of distribution models and supplemental payments.
Receives and distributes incoming correspondence to appropriate staff.
Review outgoing correspondence and maintain daily log to assure accuracy and completeness.
Maintains daily schedule of appointments and meetings for the Regulatory Analyst Supervisor of the Supplemental Payments Unit and coordinates staff participation.
Assembles necessary information and attachments for special studies, surveys, reports, etc. before submission to the Regulatory Analyst Supervisor for final approval.
Acts in a public relations capacity in representing the Supplemental Payments Unit and MPF to persons by telephone.
Functions as a liaison with staff members of other agencies, professional associations, and providers.
Follows up on projects assigned to the Supplemental Payments Unit to ensure timely completion and to facilitate advising of project status and deadlines.
Assists in liaison efforts between the Regulatory Analyst Supervisor and their staff to ensure that internal assignments are carried out in a timely basis.
Maintains Supplemental Payments Unit supplies, inventory, & assigned office equipment by purchasing, stocking, and scheduling of necessary products and services required to meet demands.
Provides back up support for administrative staff in Medicaid Program Finance.
Format Microsoft Word and Excel documents per the Agency style guidelines.
This position will be filled at an hourly salary of $18.00 and is non-negotiable.
This position is not a remote or telework position.

What is OPS employment?
OPS employment is a temporary employer/employee relationship used for accomplishing short term or intermittent tasks. OPS employees are at-will employees and are subject to actions such as pay changes, changes to work assignments, and terminations at the discretion of the Agency head or designee. OPS employees do not serve probationary periods or become permanent in their positions because they serve at the pleasure of the Agency head.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
One year of administrative or clerical experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with an associate's degree from an accredited college or university.
