The Work You Will Do:
This position serves as a Systems Administrator position in the Division of Information Technology (IT). This position is part of a team responsible for system administration of Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and later. These activities include technical strategy, technical analysis, and support of staff in executing, testing and rolling-out solutions. The core functions include:
- Analyzes system logs and identifies potential issues with computer systems.
- Performs routine daily maintenance on Windows and Linux servers.
- Monitors systems for potential issues and optimum performance.
- Applies operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- Adds, removes, or updates user account information, resetting passwords, etc.

Where You Will Work:
This position will allow for up to100% percent remote working or allow working onsite in one of the Tallahassee offices, if preferred. Florida residents will be given preference.

Pay:

Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Analyzes system logs and identifies potential issues with computer systems.
- Performs routine audits of systems hardware and software.
- Performs routine daily maintenance on Windows and Linux servers.
- Maintains system standards to ensure operational requirements, quality requirements, security requirements, and design constraints are addressed.
- Document and maintain environment specifications, support procedures, and other system-related information.
- Monitors systems for potential issues and optimum performance.
- Applies operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- Verifies stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system changes.
- Installs and configures new hardware and software.
- Adds, removes, or updates user account information, resetting passwords, etc.
- Answers technical queries and assists users.
- Troubleshoots any reported problems and recommends appropriate solution.
- Works in a team environment.
- Performs duties related to System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Administration.
- Performs security vulnerability remediation.
- Manages multiple tasks and small projects as well as service requests and incident resolution.
- May guide or provide work direction to technical staff, contract staff, and/or OPS staff.
- May act as team/technical lead or perform coordination of project tasks.
- Performs records requests per agency guidelines.
- Adheres to policies, procedures, and ITSM practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the team supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skilled in the administration of Microsoft Server 2012 and later operating systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Active Directory administration.
- Ability to perform server patching, updates, builds, and configuration changes.
- Proficient knowledge of MS IIS, .NET framework, and software/ code deployment.
- Knowledge of PowerShell.
- Knowledge of backup and restore procedures.
- Knowledgeable in IT service continuity and disaster recovery.
- Knowledge of virtualization technology, including Hyper-V and VMWare
Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state and national law enforcement records.
Minimum:
- This position requires off-hours, on-call, and weekend rotation support.
- Minimum one-year experience in administration of Microsoft Server 2012 or later, and Active Directory.
Preferred:
- Experience with system administration in Microsoft O365, Windows Server 2016 and later, and patch management/vulnerability remediation.
