The Work You Will Do:

This position performs contract management and project oversight for the Office of Broadband.

The Office of Broadband is to assist communities throughout Florida with expanding broadband internet access. The Office of Broadband uses strategies, planning, studies, and partnerships of various programs around the state and available within FloridaCommerce’s Division of Community Development (DCD) to energize economic growth and create jobs for families in Florida. This includes providing education and information to local leaders, regional, state organizations, and business leaders to encourage communication and collaboration among our partners in the state, federal agencies, and the private sector.

Pay:  $48,140.48 annually

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position performs contract management and project oversight for the Office of Broadband.

Performs contract manager duties for the assigned Broadband program and special projects.

Duties include:

  • Provides technical assistance to applicants, reviews applications, composes recommendations, justification, and approval letters.
  • Develops deliverables and prepares agreements and amendments as required.
  • Tracks and reviews quarterly reports
  • Performs desk and onsite monitoring of assigned projects.
  • Reviews, verifies, and prepares reimbursement requests.
  • Tracks project budgets and schedules.
  • Maintains good working relationships and keeps in close coordination with grant receipts.
  • Maintains all files on the contract from execution to final closeout.
  • Enters data into the grant tracking system for each assigned contract.
  • Ability to respond in a timely and comprehensive manner to inquiries sent by internal or external entities regarding grant projects.
  • Coordinates with federal/state agencies and private internet service provider companies to provide technical assistance to communities.
  • Assists in coordinating statewide meetings.
  • Promotes positive working relationships and facilitates ongoing communication and cooperation between the Department/Division and Broadband/economic development partnerships.
  • Works independently to plan, organize, and coordinate tasks.
  • Routinely reviews external grant program best practices to insure a high level of program execution.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of state grant/contract processing policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of state purchasing procedures – including use of purchasing cards.
  • Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
  • Skilled in use of spreadsheet and word processing software, developing tracking documents and creating reports.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage activities with other staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility.
  • Ability to conduct research and analysis and prepare summary documents.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to travel.

Minimum:

Preferred – FCCM Certification is preferred but not required.
