Your Specific Responsibilities:

Under the general supervision of the Benefits Program Supervisor/Analyst, reviews and analyzes Fraud, Non-Fraud and Non-Monetary overpayment determinations in the Reemployment Assistance Program.  This position requires the incumbent to be quality and customer focused; to assist in improving all work processes and to assist in meeting the missions and goals of the department.  When necessary or requested, attend training and be willing to cross train to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Responsible for reviewing and handling claims associated with CONNECT Workflow Queues, Corrected Desk Pay Order (DPO’s), Employer Protest, Wage Credit Post Audit (UCO-2), phone calls, and associated mail daily.

 

Responsible for reviewing the appeals decisions to determine the appropriate actions needed as it relates to overpayment determinations.  Set up overpayments, re-determine overpayments as needed including canceling overpayments.

 

Provides testimony at appeals hearings regarding overpayments as requested by the Office of RA Appeals or other hearing offices.

 

Performs other related duties as required.

  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to reemployment assistance programs.
  • Ability to review reemployment assistance functions to measure effectiveness.

  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

 

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records. 

 

Minimum:

  • Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.

 

Preferred:

  • Preference will be given to those with one year of professional experience in Reemployment Assistance and/or Workforce Services.

 

Pay: $20.70 per hour

The Work You Will Do:        

The OPS Employment Program Specialist is a member of the Claims Processing team of the Division of Workforce Services.

 

This is a highly responsible position requiring extensive knowledge of the Reemployment Assistance Law and Department procedures.  The person in this position is responsible for several complex programmatic functions performed within reemployment assistance relating to claimant eligibility and employer chargeability that have statewide applications.  The person in this position may be responsible for processing Florida liable claims, providing claimant instructions and taking necessary actions relative to claims activities as a result of working with the Voice Response system.  Professional work requiring not only extensive knowledge of the Reemployment Assistance Law, regulations, policies, and procedures, but also the ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments, and work cooperatively with others.
