Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a professional position performing highly responsible technical, consultative, and administrative work. The incumbent in this position is expected to function with a great deal of independence and a high quality of organizational skills. The position holds several major areas of responsibility.

 

Provides direction, guidance and technical assistance to Florida Local Workforce Development Boards and other partners regarding the successful implementation of special projects funded by the Department. Assists with the development of appropriate training materials and conducts and/or leads the training as needed.

 

Conducts research of federal and state laws, statutes, regulations, and other governing authorities to develop, review and update programmatic policies, procedures and guidelines related to assigned projects. Evaluates the impact of statutes, regulations, and governing authorities on operations, identifies potential challenges, and recommends appropriate action.

 

Assists with coordinating required activities for assigned projects to include researching and analyzing data to complete quarterly and other reporting requirements.

 

Provides assistance to management and staff in the development, management and operation of assigned workforce programs. Consults with management and others on the development and implementation of training and technical assistance to improve related workforce program outcomes.

 

Writes, develops, and manages grant awards, contracts, memoranda of understanding and interagency agreements for assigned projects.

Serves on workgroups related to assigned projects.

 

Assists with special projects and initiatives within the unit, as assigned.

 

Assists in initiatives and activities related to special populations.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of the methods data collection and analysis, including statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials. 
  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to interpret complex state and federal laws, regulations, guidelines and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to make oral presentations to workforce partner.

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records. 

 

Minimum:

  • Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.
  • Travel may be required to travel.

Preferred:

  • Work hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) or two years of equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Experience researching federal or state law, regulations, or other governing authorities to update policies, procedures, or guidelines.
  • Experience analyzing data to complete reports of program activities.
  • Experience developing and implementing workforce development programs.
  • Experience developing and/or implementing grants

 

Pay:  $44,060.11 - $48,466.20
