The Work You Will Do:
The Application Systems Programmer II is a member of the IT Maintenance Application Development team within the Division of Information Technology. The incumbent will have the responsibility to provide to all customers timely and appropriate services in an environment that is customer-focused, data-driven, process-oriented, team-centered, partner-interdependent and sensitive to human diversity.

Pay:
$46,668 - $55,000
Your Specific Responsibilities:
The incumbent will have the responsibility to provide to all customers and suppliers timely and appropriate services in an environment that is customer-focused, data-driven, process-oriented, team-centered, partner-interdependent and sensitive to human diversity. Performs technical work involving the evaluation, implementation and use of telecommunication components and office information systems. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Responsible for the design, coding, testing, and deployment of application development enhancements, maintenance, modifications, and/or fixes.
- Works to ensure coding changes conform to Department hardware, software, development, and architecture standards, including: Writing efficient and effective code that meets requirements and design constraints., following the standards and guidelines of the development team, collaborating with the team and development lead to complete projects/tasks and share knowledge.
Consults with users and translates their requirements and needs into Information Technology (IT) solutions. Plans, researches, designs and implements application modifications and enhancements with a team. Codes and tests applications. Creates test data and test scripts. - Develops technical solutions to support the business requirements for new internal application development and to support the migration of legacy systems to supported environments;
Writes and maintains documentation to ensure continuity and easy maintenance of any ongoing and reopened projects when there is a change in team member(s). Provides weekly status reports. - Compiles and writes documentation of program development and subsequent revisions. Provides technical assistance to customers during UAT. Keeps up-to-date with current technology as it relates to job functions
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
Minimum:
- 3+ years of experience with software development practices
- 2+ years of experience with relational databases
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or related technical field or equivalent experience.
- ASP/C# .Net, SQL relational databases, TFS, Visual Studio, MVC, Bootstrap, SharePoint.
- Experience on projects and/or teams using Agile, or Scrum, creating flowcharts using Microsoft Visio or similar tool; developing for hybrid cloud (e.g. Azure, Salesforce).
- Demonstration of willingness and ability to learn new technologies.
