Your Specific Responsibilities:

Must be proficient in MS SQL to create complex Ad Hoc and standard reports, as related to performance, reporting, and analysis, according to state and federal program policy for department workforce and workforce related programs.

 

Works closely with state MIS vendor in preparing data to be submitted for several federal programs on a monthly and quarterly basis.

 

Analyzes and validates data to ensure that performance outcome reports are delivered to entities within FloridaCommerce, United States Department of Labor (USDOL), CareerSource Florida, Inc, Local Workforce Development Boards (LWDBs) and other stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.

 

Identifies and analyzes complex management systems and performance reporting processes, and requirements related to the state's federal programs. Develops, recommends, and presents solutions through a centralized, cooperative, and interdepartmental process. Develops and coordinates implementation of strategies for federal reporting in accordance with federal, state and departmental objectives.

 

Provides information, analysis, and technical assistance to associates within FloridaCommerce and LWDBs concerning information resource utilization, program operations, required reporting and reports development. Provides guidance in the use and interpretation of existing on-line reporting functions provided via the statewide case management and reporting system application.

 

Provides extensive consultation to both end users and application vendors with regard to the development and implementation of statewide applications which are used by jobseekers and employers in job posting, job search, and hiring activities. Additionally, assists state MIS vendor in the development of enhanced reporting capabilities based on known reporting needs. Assists in the development of enhanced functionalities as these needs are requested by LWDB field staff.

 

Regularly reviews proposed changes in laws and regulations affecting federal and state reporting requirements to determine the impact of the changes these have on departmental management reporting.  Provides consultation in the development of methodology for the collection and reporting of data as these relate to changes in federal and state reporting requirements. Monitors the information management systems for state workforce and workforce related systems and/or other information systems as assigned; designs and implements modifications when necessary to ensure required performance reporting capabilities are realized.

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.

The Work You Will Do:        

This position serves as a Reporting Analyst in the Bureau of Labor Market Statistics’ Federal Reporting Unit and is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate submittal of federal reports under Workforce Services programs, including Reemployment Assistance (RA) and One-Stop Program Support (OSPS).

The incumbent will have the responsibility to provide all internal and external customer with timely and appropriate services in an environment that is customer-focused, data-driven, process-oriented, team-centered, partner-interdependent, and sensitive to human diversity.

The mission of the Bureau of Labor Market Statistics (LMS) is to produce, analyze, and deliver timely and reliable labor statistics to improve economic decision-making. The LMS data services section aids numerous FloridaCommerce program areas with data analytics and business intelligence. This role impacts the local, state, and federal levels of the workforce development system by accurately reporting on performance accountability indicators which assess effectiveness in achieving positive outcomes for individuals served by programs authorized under WIOA title I and the Wagner-Peyser Act.

The Employment Service seeks to improve the functioning of the nation’s labor markets by bringing together individuals seeking employment with employers seeking workers. The Reporting Analysts for The Bureau of Labor Statistic’s Federal Reporting Unit will provide insight in performance reporting trends and produce valuable data which aids the efficient administration of WIOA and Wagner Peyser programs. Performance reporting informs decision makers at the state level to ensure Florida remains a performance leader in workforce development and informs DOL economists, analyst, and our representatives in Congress.
