Your Specific Responsibilities:

The role of this position is a highly complex and consultative position requiring extensive knowledge of the Reemployment Assistance law, Chapter 443, F.S., and Department policies and procedures relating to the Reemployment Assistance (RA) program.  The incumbent in this position performs independent work identifying and analyzing complex management problems, and developing, recommending, and implementing solutions to resolve problems through a centralized management review process within the RA Program. Advises management of problems and/or policy concerns related to program and operational functions. This is professional work requiring not only extensive knowledge of the reemployment assistance law, rules, policies, and procedures, but also the ability to plan, organize, communicate, and direct work within the call center.

 

Supervisory employees are those who spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees’ work, and who have the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action, including all employees serving as supervisors, administrators, and directors. Section 110.205(2)(w), Florida Statutes

 

Monitors and ensures compliance to regulations, processes, and operating procedures for the RA Program. Ensures that customer service to RA claimants are provided accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.  Consults with staff to identify areas of concern and recommends possible solutions. Works in coordination with the Quality Assurance units to develop and implement corrective actions to ensure the Department meets federally mandated performance, timeliness, and quality standards.  

 

Evaluate work performed by staff of the Department of Commerce relative to the Reemployment Assistance Program to determine whether performance meets federal and state quality standards by conducting on site quality reviews of the Reemployment Assistance adjudication and claims processes and make process improvement recommendations.  Develop, schedule and conduct programmatic training sessions to improve the quality of the Reemployment Assistance Program.  Performs project management duties.

 

Oversee the development and ensures comprehensive training for assigned Reemployment Assistance program areas is completed.  Assists in writing, updating, and revising, procedural instructions, memory joggers, Q’s & A’s and other resource material related to RA processes to incorporate new policies and procedures in an effort to improve RA operational and management practices.

 

Coordinates unit activities relating to specialized work assignments and in connection with initial claims, adjudication, and call center inquiries as required including the preparation of reports, project analysis and correspondence. Ensures effective management and supervisory practices are utilized. Approves and administers position descriptions, performance appraisals, and procedural changes due to modifications in the work of the unit. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of reemployment assistance law, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of management and supervision.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic public relations principles.
  • Ability to effectively utilize MS Office with strong knowledge in Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to organization, manage time and multi-task.
  • Ability to manage a reemployment assistance program.
  • Ability to supervise people.
  • Ability to determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, policies, and procedures relating to management of a reemployment assistance program.
  • Ability to assess budgetary needs.

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records. 

 

Minimum:

  • Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.
  • Travel may be required. .

Preferred:

  • At least one year of experience working in a supervisory or leadership role that involves mentorship, coaching, and training team members.
  • At least two years of experience in Reemployment Assistance and/or Workforce Services.

Pay:

$50,000 - $60,000 annually.

The Work You Will Do:        

The Management Review Specialist – SES is a leadership member in the Reemployment Assistance (RA) Quality Assurance Unit within the Division of Workforce Services.

The incumbent of this position is responsible for supervising the RA Quality Assurance Training Team.  Identifying, coordinating, analyzing, making recommendations from a quality perspective to resolve statewide programmatic (RA) and systematic (Reconnect) training issues and concerns; and providing direction and guidance to RA management.
