Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Deputy Director for Reemployment Assistance Services. The incumbent in this position uses analytical skills and independent judgment to perform complex planning, research, consultative and administrative work.
At the direction of leadership, this position performs functions to identify, analyze, and resolve policy and operational issues, and establish national best practices within the Reemployment Assistance (RA) Program to ensure coordination and efficiency between administrative, program and operational aspects of service delivery.
Responsible for the coordination, tracking and management of special projects: Assess program operations and service delivery to identify issues/opportunities and recommends resolutions, resources and actions; thorough consultation with appropriate staff to develop recommendations regarding the resolution of identified program concerns and opportunities. Prepares interim management reports on the accomplishments, modification of planned activities and outstanding issues related to special projects. At the direction of leadership, creates presentations and presents on special projects, initiatives and process improvements to highlight successes of the RA Program to achieve national prominence.
Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; creating process mapping and documentation; assisting with the procurement process; implementing production, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying trends; determining system improvements; and implementing change.
Lead long-range strategic planning efforts to anticipate innovative organizational change necessary to help ensure institutional effectiveness and maintain agility during a time of rapid growth and change. Assist the management team in the development and implementation of the RA Program’s operational long and short-term goals; and assist with developing policy recommendations based on national best practices.
Reviews and analyzes proposed legislation and administrative rules that affects the RA Program. Formulates internal policies, legislative policy proposals, federal waivers, process enhancements and procedures that will have a significant impact on the RA Program. Identifies and provides recommendations for leveraging opportunities that enhance the RA program, such as grants and consortiums.
Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
Minimum:
- Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.
- Travel may be required.
Preferred:
- Experience in organizational management and achieving program efficiencies.
- Experience working with external partners, building collaborative partnerships and public speaking.
- A college degree from an accredited college or university; Professional or non-professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college degree.
Pay: $100,000 - $110,000

This is high-level managerial work in which the incumbent of this position directs several sections within the Reemployment Assistance (RA) program of the Department of Florida Commerce. This position requires the incumbent to exercise independent judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures that have significant impact in all aspects of the Reemployment Assistance program.
