Your Specific Responsibilities:

Directs the work of staff responsible for conducting quality reviews in accordance with federal quality criteria.  Provides assistance to Reemployment Assistance program managers to promote the most efficient and effective accomplishment of the operating objectives. . Consults with staff and management to identify areas of concern and recommend possible solutions.  Provides technical assistance regarding programmatic issues and assists in interpreting rules, policies, legislation and standards.  Reviews and evaluates operating and financial reports and initiates corrective actions when required.

 

Supervisory employees are those who spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, planning and directing employees’ work and have the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action, including all employees serving as supervisors, administrators, and directors. Section 110.205(2)(w), Florida Statutes.

 

Oversee the reengineering of existing Reemployment Assistance Program processes and automation of these processes.  Also oversees the development of new programs to meet Department needs and recommendations regarding continuous improvement plans in existing programs.

 

Oversees the escalated claims to monitor and identify problems and policies related to programs, systems, and operational issues. Advises management of these issues.

 

Reviews and analyzes newly enacted state legislation, Federal Registers, Federal Program Letters, state and national performance reports, operating budgets, bulletins, operational memoranda and other documents to determine intent and applicability to the Florida Reemployment Assistance Program.  Coordinates the development of implementation plans and issuance of appropriate instructions.

 

Participates in conferences, workshops, inter-organizational teams and similar activities relevant to planning and resource management.  Makes presentations and represents the department at state and federal meetings.

 

Oversee the development and execution of end-user training, as well as statewide programmatic training for all units with Reemployment Assistance.

 

Serve as coordinator/liaison for RA Program assistance performed by Regional Workforce Boards. Provides programmatic guidance and technical assistance to statewide and local Workforce partners and governmental agencies.

 

Directs the activities and workflow of associates with the responsibility of authorization of leave, attendance records and performance appraisals, plan work objectives and deadlines.

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.

 

Minimum:

  • Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.
  • Travel may be required.

Pay:

$75,000 - $90,000 annually

This is a managerial position responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the activities of professional staff providing consulting services to the Reemployment Assistance (RA) Programs to improve management capabilities, system performance and operational procedures.
