Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is a professional position involving complex issues and the development and implementation of solutions to the Department objectives and improve processes and operational procedures.
Grant Cash Balance Analysis and Research
- Conduct detailed analyses of federal and state grant cash balances to identify necessary draws of available funds in accordance with established procedures.
- Review grant accounts with excess cash on hand and determine opportunities to offset or reduce future cash draw requests.
- Investigate anomalies, trends, or discrepancies in cash activity and prepare recommendations to improve compliance with federal cash management requirements.
Process Monitoring and Improvement
- Monitor existing cash management workflows to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, or opportunities for process enhancement.
- Participate in the design, testing, and evaluation of new or revised procedures, system enhancements, and reporting tools.
- Provide feedback to leadership on process performance and propose solutions to strengthen internal controls and operational effectiveness.
Documentation, Reporting, and Recordkeeping
- Maintain detailed logs of all analytical activities, findings, and follow‑up actions to support audit readiness and internal transparency.
- Prepare routine and ad hoc reports summarizing cash management performance, grant activity, and identified opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with departmental standards.
Cross‑Training and Team Support
- Cross-train with other Cash Management staff to develop proficiency in multiple functional areas and provide backup coverage as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure continuity of operations during staff absences or peak workload periods.
- Share knowledge, tools, and best practices to support a cohesive and high-performing work environment.
Assists with responding to and completing PALM tasks assigned to FloridaCommerce
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Knowledge of the methods of data collection.
