MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance or business administration; or

One (1) year of professional or nonprofessional accounting experience.

JOB DUTIES:

Process all purchasing card payments for the division. Resolve billing discrepancies and ensure compliance with department purchasing card policies.  Perform these activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Update and input division expenditures into accounting ledger application. Perform these activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.    

Input and process requisitions for purchase orders. Perform these activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Input and update division fleet vehicle data. Perform these activities in accordance with established policies and procedures. Input data provided by bureaus, which shall include, but not be limited to, mileage, maintenance, and vehicle usage information.

Employee performs financial audits on assigned division contracts.  Ensures invoices submitted for payment are accurate and consistent with the defined contract’s budget. 

Provide back up and support for other positions in Finance section as required.

Provide secondary phone coverage for the Director’s Office. Perform these activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of numbers, their operations, and interrelationships including one or more of the following:  arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications; knowing how to find information and identifying essential information.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in writing.
  • Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
