SPECIAL NOTES:

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Two (2) years of professional accounting experience is required.

Preferences

·        Experience in commercial deposits, office management, accounting, banking, and/or bookkeeping.

·        Experience in receipts/receivables.

·        Experience in reconciliation of financial data. 

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from an accredited college or university.

The salary range for this position is $33,759.96 - $42,333.48. Anticipated hiring salary will be based upon experience.

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

This position is located in our Tallahassee, FL office. The hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

·        Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures

·        Ability to obtain information from all relevant sources to accomplish specific task.

·        Ability to analyze, review and interpret accounting data.

·         Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

·         Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with others.

·        Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

·        Ability to work independently.

·        Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.

·        Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 Suite Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)

·        Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

·        Performs the daily Cash Receipts operations within the Trust Fund Management Section.

·        Processes cash receipts.

·        Reviews cash receipts and determine the appropriate accounting information for recording into FLAIR.

·        Prepares and deposits cash receipts.

·        Reports cash receipts information.

·        Posts cash receipts into the Insurance Management System.

·        Maintain the Accounts Receivable log

·        Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
