Employees of the Department of Education are paid on a monthly pay cycle.
This position audits and reviews documentation for payment of travel reimbursement requests to ensure compliance with all Department Policies and Procedures and State Rules and Regulations. This requires separation of reimbursement requests by division, proper pre-audit of all travel elements, recalculation of amounts to be reimbursed and determination that all forms have been completed for timely reimbursement; as well as the responsibility of processing the payment of the rental car contract invoices. Answer inquiries from employees regarding the status of their payment.
- Review purchasing card (P-Card) transactions and P-Card receipts in a timely manner ensuring P-Card payments are following department policies and procedures as well as state rules and regulations.
- Audit and process applications for advance payment of travel-related expenses (C-676TA) according to the Department’s policies and procedures.
- Serve as back-up for logging in travel reimbursement requests that are received daily.
- Prepare cash refunds and warrant cancellations pertaining to travel.
- Secure and prepare necessary documentation for coding in FLAIR input.
- Assist the department and division budget officers, employees, and other customers who travel in the preparation of and vouchering of travel reimbursements and related expenses.
- Review a variety of source documents pertaining to the financial system for completeness in coding.
- Enter each detailed entry into FLAIR.
- Resolve input and compatibility issues which can arise with appropriate steps and by consulting with department staff.
- Review the details of entries daily using the voucher summary report or by reaching out to determine the accuracy and completeness of input.
- Follow through on necessary corrections and adjustments.
- Perform other duties as needed/required.

- Annual Leave - All full-time Career Service employees filling established positions earn annual leave in varying increments dependent upon years of creditable service. Employees with up to 5 years of creditable service earn 8.667 hours per month, with 5 to 10 years earn 10.833 hours per month and those with over 10 years of service earn 13 hours per month.
- Sick Leave – Career Service employees earn 8.667 hours of sick leave credits per month.
BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
