Duties and Responsibiltites
This Accountant III position is in the IRP/IFTA Audit Accounting section and is responsible for comparing daily reports between internal systems. Incumbent will review and analyze IFTA Fuel Tax Transmittals for invalid data and calculation errors within International Commercial Filing System. The incumbent will also review refund requests within the Cashier Receipt System to ensure validity of the request. The incumbent will also assist with taking and processing IRP/IFTA Audit payments when a team member is out or needs assistance. This position is also responsible for corresponding verbally and in writing to internal and external customers to resolve potential problems discovered within the various systems within the department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- At least three years of professional work experience in customer service.
- At least two years of professional work experience in accounting.
Preferred Quailifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
- Knowledge of State of Florida accounting policies and procedures.
- Skill in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Skill in auditing, reviewing, or analyzing data for compliance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to operate general office equipment to include multiline phone and calculator.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Ability to verify, enter, update and extract electronically stored information.
- Knowledge and skill in the use of Florida Real-time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS), Cashier Receipt System (CRS) and International Commercial Filing System (ICFS)
- Knowledge of the International Registration Plan (IRP) and International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) programs.Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and assignments.
- Ability to collect and process payments.
- Ability to maintain confidentia information.
- Ability to maintain complex files and records.
- Ability to understand and applyapplicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.\
General Information
- The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
