Minimum Qualifications:

 

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting and three years of professional accounting experience; or

 

Four years of professional accounting experience with the State of Florida.

 

Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. 

 

Description

 

Revenue Receipts and Classification

 

  • Receives and records all ACH/EFT deposits in FLAIR.
  • Research revenue items that do not have source documentation or, Contact customers via mail or phone to determine the purpose of the revenue.
  • Serves as back-up for the receipt and FLAIR coding of all negotiable items received by the Commission (Cash and Checks).

 

        • Prepares bank deposit slips for deposit into the State Concentration Account daily.
        • Forwards appropriate supporting documentation to sections within FWC.
        • Classifies and enters accounting codes for each revenue item to the cash listing account using the Revenue Internal Control System (RICS).

 

Data Entry

 

  • Prepares and records daily deposit information for ACH/EFT into the Florida Accounting Information Resource System (FLAIR) within three business days of the Transaction Date in CMS.  
  • Reviews Daily Input printouts for accuracy and make necessary FLAIR adjustments as requested.

 

Maintaining Files

 

  • Organizes and maintains source documents and deposit files.
  • Coordinates with Revenue Clerk to ensure source documentation is scanned and filed electronically per current procedures.
  • Ensure that documentation is neat and in order, this may include copying and the distribution of deposit documents to outside offices.

 

Revenue Contracts

 

  • Reviews revenue contracts for adequate documentation ensuring terms of the revenue contract have been met prior to preparing a scheduled invoice.
  • Maintains cost sheets, revenue contract files and performs reconciliations as needed.
  • Ensure that documentation is neat and in order, this may include copying and the distribution of deposit documents to outside offices.

 

Records Account Receivables in FLAIR as needed

 

  • Records all accounts receivables in FLAIR.
  • Monitors accounts receivables report for accuracy and aging accounts

 

Delinquent Accounts

 

  • Prepares all returned check and follow-up correspondence.
  • Maintains the delinquent account tracking list on SharePoint.
  • Maintains files on delinquent accounts.  
  • Records/reconciles and monitors accounts receivables.
  • Reconciles returned checks using FLAIR and Revenue Internal Control system (RICS).
  • Monitors delinquent account tracking list to ensure accounts are sent for collection per F.S. 215.34 (2)

 

Monthly Reconciliation

 

  • On a monthly basis reconciles source documents with the Statement of Revenue for accuracy.
  • Assists the Accounting Services Analyst A in comparing source documents to FLAIR reports, as needed.
  • Analyzes, researches, and prepares any FLAIR adjustments. 
  • As backup to the Accounting Services Analyst A, audits Saltwater Products License (SPL) and makes necessary FLAIR entries against report provided by the Office of Licensing and Permitting.

 

Report Preparation

  • Run reports as needed.
