Duties and Responsibilities

This Accounting Services Administrator position is within the Financial Accounting and Fixed Assets section of the Bureau of Accounting and is responsible for performing a wide variety of accounting and reconciliation functions. Her/his duties will include oversight responsibility of the Department’s Fleet program in accordance with F.A.C. 60B and Chapter 287; maintenance of the property accounting sub-system; supervising the preparation, processing, and approval of subrogating automobile accidents involving department vehicles; and maintaining accurate and current records on department insurance policies. Responsibility also includes coordinating and overseeing divisions/personnel regarding the annual inventory process for the agency and facilitating the sale of surplus property via online auction process. Also, managing contracts and grants for billing and reimbursement request.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of State of Florida accounting policies and procedures.
  • Skill in reconciling financial data, balancing financial accounts, and comparing records to determine whether the figures are accurate and in agreement.
  • Ability to use analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office applications including Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to use sound judgment to identify problems, generate and evaluate alternative solutions, and make recommendations.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage completing deadlines.
  • Skill in communicating effectively with internal and external customers, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work well independently yet works cohesively within the section to maintain internal control measures

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with property.
  • Experience in grants and contracts.
  • Experience with accounting and financial data.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Microsoft Office applications include Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience using ServiceNow.

 

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
