THIS IS NOT A TELEWORK POSITION
This is a professional accounting position in the disbursements unit of Financial Support Services (FSS). This position is responsible for MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) purchase order (PO) invoice payment, MFMP and FLAIR encumbrance reconciliation and for conducting invoice payment research to provide timely responses to vendors and internal customers related to invoice payment. The position will assist in communicating with, motivating, and training employees, planning and directing their work. This position requires a working knowledge of the Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR), MFMP and the rules and regulations governing invoice processing.
- Coordinate workflow within the FSS Unit for MFMP invoice processing. Ensure payments are processed within statutory time frames. Provide on-the-job training and instructions to employees in the unit as well as Central Office and Region staff. Analyze various reports to ensure compliance with vendor payment statute. Provide accountants with technical accounting assistance with voucher payment problems including the interpretation of rules, regulations and various policies and procedures. Monitor Department of Financial Services (DFS) Return Log and Daily Deletion log for each MFMP auditor for DFS Chief Financial Officer voucher returns and/or deletions and work with employees to understand problems and causes for voucher rejections/deletions.
- Monitor and analyze daily and weekly MFMP reports and work with FSS and Region staff as well as DFS to ensure timely payment processing of invoices. Investigate reasons for late payments and meet with staff to make recommendations to resolve issues and problems causing the late payments.
- Perform FLAIR encumbrance reconciliation to identify outdated or unused encumbrance balances for POs that need to be liquidated or outstanding invoices that need to be processed for payment. This requires the abiity to analyze FLAIR and MFMP data as well as correspond with program offices and regions for the required action to be taken.
- Assist with updating procedure manuals for the MFMP payment section. Investigate and analyze problems and make recommendations.

- Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper and timely completion of work assignments.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.

- Skill in collecting and organizing data.
Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of professional experience in accounting, fiscal and/or financial management areas.
- One year of experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) or other automated accounting software.
- Three years of accounts payable experience in a governmental organization.
