SPECIAL NOTES:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

 

Additional requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Two (2) years within the last five (5) years of providing clerical and/or administrative support in a professional office environment.

 

Preference:

  • Experience working with imaged documents in an office setting.
  • Experience in ordering, receiving, and maintaining office supplies for a business or office.
  • Experience in providing support services for an office, including answering and routing calls on a multi-line telephone system.

 

This position is required to work 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 

This position is located in Tallahassee, Florida.

 

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

 

This position will be filled at $35,000.00.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices. Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication and use of proper grammar.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to administrative functions such as personnel, purchasing or compiling reports.
  • Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance, such as changing toner cartridges, to commonly used office equipment.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to accurately perform basic arithmetic.

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This position provides clerical and administrative support to the Bureau of State Employee Workers’ Compensation Claims and reports directly to the Bureau Chief.
