Overview:

The Florida Gaming Control Commission (“FGCC”) is a five-member commission appointed by the Governor. The FGCC is charged with investigating and enforcing Florida pari-mutuel and gaming statutes and rules.

 

Position Responsibilities:

The FGCC’s Division of Administration, is searching for an Administrative Assistant I to serve as the Runner and backup Receptionist for the FGCC. This position:

  • Performs all daily runner duties for FGCC which includes, but is not limited to, picking up warrants from the Capitol, making deposits on a daily basis, etc.;
  • Maintains documentation/files;
  • Operates a motor vehicle as required to fulfill the duties of the position;
  • Serves as the backup to the Front Desk Receptionist;
  • Operates FGCC’s switchboard, answering all incoming calls, transferring, etc.;
  • Processes all FGCC incoming mail, date stamp, and distribute mail appropriately;
  • Responsible for administration’s outgoing mail, preparing mailing labels and sending overnight mail to vendors;
  • Assists the Fleet Coordinator with related duties and provides support to other functional areas within the Division of Administration;
  • Manages the supplies inventory for all employees;
  • Assists all administrative personnel with clerical tasks; and
  • Performs special projects and/or other related work at the direction of the Director of Administration.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, all levels of management, and customers;
  • Proficient computer skills;
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices;
  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices;
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication;
  • Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports;
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
  • Ability to work independently; and
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent; and
  • A valid Driver’s License.
