Overview:
The newly created Florida Gaming Control Commission (“FGCC”) is a five-member commission appointed by the Governor. The FGCC is charged with investigating and enforcing Florida pari-mutuel and gaming statutes and rules.
The FGCC’s Division of Administration is searching for a dynamic Administrative Assistant II.
Position Responsibilities:
The Administrative Assistant II will work under the direction of the Director of Administration.
- Serves as the Receptionist for the FGCC by:
- Operating FGCC’s switchboard; answering all incoming calls, transferring, etc.
- Processing all outgoing/incoming mail, date stamping, and distributing mail appropriately preparing mailing labels and sending overnight mail to vendors.
- Managing three (4) FedEx mailing accounts for the agency
- Managing four (4) Stamps.com mailing accounts for the agency
- Assisting the Senior Clerk with performing all daily runner duties for FGCC which includes, but is not limited to: picking up warrants from the Capitol, making deposits on a daily basis, etc. Operates motor vehicle as required to fulfill the duties of the position.
- Performing special projects and/or other related work at the direction of the Director of Administration.

- Knowledge of administrative principles and practices.

- Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports.

- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Holds and maintains a valid Florida driver’s license.
Minimum Qualifications:
- This position requires the incumbent to have and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university; or
- Administrative or clerical experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education
