POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing varied and complex administrative assistance to the Criminal Justice Analytics Bureau.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Reviewing, analyzing, and preparing drafts of memoranda and correspondence for administrative decisions and policies for the members of the bureau, consistent with Department Policies and Procedures;
- Compiling and analyzing data as requested, and presenting recommendations in logical formats to aid Supervisors in decision making;
- Maintaining a thorough knowledge of Department programs and services to assist Department customers in resolving problems or responding to requests for assistance and routing those
- Maintaining a tickler file to assist section supervisors in monitoring assignments and deadlines;
- Ensuring that correspondence is routed to, and handled by appropriate staff members during extended absences of supervisors;
- Reviewing leave and attendance forms and overtime justifications to ensure compliance with Department policies;
- Assisting section members in preparation of reports and correspondence;
- Interpreting established policy and providing information on leave/attendance forms, correspondence or appraisals for the resolution of problems;
- Reviewing correspondence and reports to ensure proper accuracy, spelling and grammar; and
- Researching and completing travel arrangements, including acquisition of hotel accommodations, commercial air flights and rental cars, and ensuring that all such travel is done in compliance with State and Department rules and policies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of office procedures and practices;
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication;
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic;
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
- Ability to work independently;
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques; and
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

BASE SALARY:
- $37,050.00
NOTES:
Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
