Duties and Responsibilities
This position reports directly to the Chief of Motorist Compliance, providing assistance and support to the Chief and program areas in the bureau. This position is responsible for assisting bureau management with developing solutions to administrative issues and escalating relevant matters to management; responsible for assisting bureau management with evaluating personnel documents, managing the personnel activity, and serving as the bureau’s personnel liaison; assisting in the development and maintenance of the bureau’s SharePoint site; and evaluating and coordinating internal and external information and projects for the bureau. This position is responsible for drafting, editing, proofreading, and preparing all types of written communications, including emails, publications, memorandums, reports, and spreadsheets.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of personal computer and basic office equipment, fax machine, copy machine, scanner, printer, and telephone.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to develop, analyze, and organize operating practices, procedures, reports, publications, and documents.
  • Ability to apply customer service skills.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in proofreading documentation for publishing.
  • Ability to work independently, including planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments independently.
  • Ability to develop and prepare forms, procedures, and manuals.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes and departmental policies governing driver license and motor vehicle laws.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer service experience.
  • Composing professional correspondence, including proofreading and/or editing.


General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
