Minimum Biweekly Salary: $1,491.85 (In accordance with current spending restrictions, if the appointment is an internal promotion, the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever higher.)

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is assigned primarily to the DJJ Headquarters Lead Personnel Attorney and the DJJ Headquarters Lead Contracts/ Children-in-Need-of Services (CINS)-Families-in-Need-of Services (FINS) Attorney to provide administrative and secretarial support in a variety of duties and assignments, including

  • Drafting, reviewing, and proofreading routine legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence.
  • Maintaining and scheduling for attorneys’ calendars.
  • Copying, scanning, and organizing documents for trials, projects, and meetings.
  • Answering office telephones; transferring calls; and taking messages.
  • Collecting and distributing mail, faxes, and packages.
  • Overseeing and maintaining the upkeep of office inventory and office equipment.
  • Reviewing documents and redacting confidential and exempt information.
  • Maintaining and updating the office records management systems; and
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently employed by the Florida State Personnel System (SPS).

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Knowledge of office procedures and practices.

Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication.

Ability to use standard business formats and styles for letters and business forms.

Ability to use Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, etc.)

Ability to operate general office equipment.

Ability to handle confidential information.

Ability to use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

At least two (2) years of experience working in an office setting.

 

SPECIAL NOTES:

When identified on a position description, a valid driver’s license is required.  If initially hire with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.  Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (business purpose/employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable.  Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided that the drive wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
