This open competitive advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in the Office of Community Corrections. 

 

The mission of the Office of Community Corrections at the Florida Department of Corrections is to enhance public safety by supervising offenders in the community and ensuring they comply with the conditions of their probation or parole. This includes providing support and resources to help offenders reintegrate into society, reduce recidivism, and promote positive behavior change. The office is committed to using evidence-based practices and collaborating with community partners to achieve these goals. Through diligent supervision and support, the Office of Community Corrections aims to contribute to the overall mission of the department in maintaining public safety and fostering successful offender rehabilitation.

 

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Perform Administrative Duties: Carry out administrative tasks in the Office of Community Corrections, using independent judgment to assist management with complex and technical work.
  • Communicate and Coordinate: Effectively communicate and coordinate with various offices, departments, institutions, agency partners, and the public. Handle incoming phone calls, provide appropriate responses, and always ensure phone coverage.
  • Manage Correspondence and Files: Maintain a correspondence control system to track inquiries and ensure responsiveness. Handle incoming mail and packages and manage a comprehensive system of office files for easy access to documents.
  • Prepare Reports and Materials: Use office automation software to prepare report templates, forms, handouts, and presentations. Stay familiar with software programs and management information networks used by the agency.
  • Support Training and Special Projects: Assist with training-related duties, such as compiling participant lists, entering completion records, and preparing training materials. Complete required annual training hours and assist with special projects as needed.
