SPECIAL NOTES:

Four (4) years of experience in business administration, public administration, finance, or related field is required. A postsecondary degree in those fields may be used as an alternative for the years of experience on a year-for-year basis.

 

Additional requirements:

  • Knowledge of state government administrative systems such as FLAIR.
  • Proficient in the English language

 

Preferences:

  • Two (2) years of professional experience in administrative, supervisorial managerial work in budget preparation, monitoring, and financial management.
  • Experience in the preparation, monitoring, and management of the operating budget, expenditure reports, and financial performance measures.

 

 

 

This position may be required to occasionally perform duties other than those listed on the position description.

The salary range for this position is: $60,000.00 - $95,000.00 annually.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of public administration, management, and organizational leadership.
  • Knowledge of Florida Statutes, Administrative Code, and state agency rules related to procurement, contracting, budgeting, and personnel.
  • Knowledge of state administrative systems such as FLAOR, MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP), and People First.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work activities across multiple administrative functions.
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data, prepare reports, and make sound recommendations.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate, and evaluate staff effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency leadership, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain compliance with state and agency requirements.

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This is professional managerial work overseeing administrative support functions within a state agency, division, or bureau. The incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing administrative services such as budget preparation, procurement, contract monitoring, invoicing, and payment processing. Work is performed under the direction of a senior-level manager with responsibility for supervising staff and ensuring compliance with state and agency rules, statutes, and policies.
