Position Overview and Responsibilities:

The Agency Recruiter, reporting to the Staff Director in DMS’ Office of the Secretary is responsible for leading the agency's recruitment functions and works closely with senior leadership to develop and implement recruitment and selection best practices that achieve staffing goals across the Department.

 

The Recruiter’s responsibility goes beyond posting job advertisements. You are identifying and helping select the best and most skilled talent to fill critical positions at the Department. More than that, the Recruiter also serves as a strategic partner and provides consultation and talent insights to hiring managers and HR liaisons.

 

Specific responsibilities of the Agency Recruiter include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Creating applicant pools by researching and creating business relationships with higher education institutions, professional associations, and other community job sourcing resources.
  • Developing and implementing initiatives for recruiting talent in a multi-site organization with varied hiring needs. Researching and engaging active and passive applicants by leveraging sources such as professional relationships, professional networking sites, ATS mining, job fairs, and employee referrals.
  • Providing guidance to hiring managers and division HR liaisons concerning recruitment and selection processes and best practices. Actively participating in all staffing related activities and engaging in cross-functional projects.
  • Tracking key recruiting metrics and using that data to drive improvements to agency hiring processes, as well as fulfilling necessary reporting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • Previous full cycle recruiting experience is preferred, but not required.
