Overview:
The Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) is a five-member commission appointed by the Governor. Our mission is to preserve and protect the integrity of gaming activities through fair regulation, licensing, effective criminal investigation, and enforcement.
The FGCC regulates legal gambling in the state, including licensed pari-mutuel wagering facilities, cardrooms, and slot machine gaming facilities. In addition, FGCC investigates criminal gambling activity and enforces the state’s criminal gambling laws.
The FGCC is searching for an Application Development Manager to help develop our growing IT team and support the agency's application-side business needs. This role will report directly to the CIO/CTO and serve as a leader for our growing agency.
This position is located in the FGCC Headquarters Office and is not remote.
Position Duties:
- Lead and manage the team responsible for building and maintaining the FGCC’s Enterprise solutions.
- Lead and manage implementation teams.
- Collaborate with FGCC leadership to support and implement the applications needed to implement the vision and strategy.
- Manage the development, updating, and security of the FGCC’s website and team.
- Develop and manage project management and governance processes.
- Manage and follow enterprise architecture standards.
- Support and develop the FGCC’s plans for implementation of new applications or modifications of current applications.
- Manage the roadmap for implementing new features for our systems.
- Form relationships with vendors and guide FGCC leadership about the integration of new products.
- Implement strategy and processes to address new functionality.
- Manage change control, organizational change management, and communications for application changes.
- Manages and coordinates the application development budget.
- Develop business relationships to make sure IT objectives align and support business objectives.
- Point of contact for enterprise solutions-related vendor management, including meeting coordination and contract reviews.
- Manage full lifecycle application development efforts, including testing.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in Application and web development or management of development or outsourced application projects.
- Experience in project management, including the use of agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Sufficient experience in the Duties & Responsibilities described above can be considered to satisfy any of the minimum requirements.
- Experience providing customer service.
- Quality Assurance of services provided and a continuous improvement plan.
