Overview:

The Florida Gaming Control Commission is responsible for exercising all regulatory and executive powers of the state with respect to legal gaming, including pari-mutuel wagering, cardrooms, slot machine facilities, oversight of gaming compacts, and other forms of gambling authorized by state law, excluding the Lottery, as well as directly enforcing Florida’s gaming laws and combatting illegal gambling activities.

The agency is overseen by five Commissioners who are appointed by the Governor, with Commissioners appointing an Executive Director who leads a team of nearly 200 staff members. The mission of the Florida Gaming Control Commission is to preserve and protect the integrity of gaming activities through fair regulation, licensing, effective criminal investigation, and enforcement.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

The Audit Evaluation & Review Analyst, working under the direction of the Audit Administrator and Chief of Revenue and Audit, providing support to the FGCC’s Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering. The duties are as follows:

• Prepare detailed work papers and assist with review and project close-out for all audits performed as assigned by the Audit Administrator and Chief of Revenue and Audit.
• Ensure documentation in work papers is complete, relevant, accurate, and properly supports all audit findings.
• Serves as the Audit Team Lead (ATL) for all audit engagements.
• Assist regulatory analysts with work papers to ensure adherence to the Florida Administrative Code, Florida Statutes, and the Office of Revenue & Auditing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and guidelines.
• Conduct exit conferences with audit entities. 
• Directly interact with permitholders throughout the audit year. 
• Prepare completed audits for imaging on the OnBase software system. 
• Assist regulatory analysts with software systems as needed.
• Log informational items in a master file and reconcile to the custodial file to ensure accurate information is available when needed for audit assignments.
• Assist the Audit Administrator and Chief of Revenue and Audit with audit reviews, information requests, audit training, revising of audit programs due to rules, statutory, regulatory changes, or other reasons as determined by the Chief of Revenue and Audit. 
• Assist the Chief of Revenue and Audit with analysis techniques to document risk-based auditing procedures, as assigned.
• Prepare and review letters and reports to ensure quality control.
• Successfully complete and maintain Division-related training courses as assigned.
• Complete other assignments as requested by the Audit Administrator and Chief of Revenue and Audit.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Knowledge and ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures pertaining to pari-mutuel wagering, cardrooms, and slot machine activity.
• Knowledge of information technology system requirements.

• Skilled in the use of a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite at an intermediate or expert level.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Six (6) years of audit, compliance, or regulatory experience. Professional studies from an accredited college or university may substitute experience on a year-by-year basis.
• A valid Driver's License;
• Ability to travel 25% of the time.
