Requirements:
Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.

Work at the FWC is cross-functional, meaning duties may cross division/office lines. The Commission expects employees to function across FWC's organizational structure by providing their skills and expertise wherever needed through work on teams or as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED with two (2) years of experience in accounting, finance or other business-related field.
  • Answers to qualifying questions must be verifiable within the work and/or educational history.
  • Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes within three (3) days of hire. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Grants and Contracts

Establish and maintain an electronic file for each grant/contract to include the grant award or final contract, budget details, if applicable, amendments, email communications, invoices, and financial reports are properly uploaded to FACTS. Ensure agreement details in the Revenue Agreement Tracking System (RATS) match agreement documents. Communicate with Divisions for any needed updates or clarification.

Process Billing for Reimbursements

Retrieve all expenditures and revenues for assigned grants and/or contracts to be included in assigned cost tracking sheet. Ensure grant details on cost tracking sheet are updated at least monthly, including but not limited to expenditures, revenues, and updates provided by the Divisions. Perform monthly reconciliations on cost tracking sheets. Ensure grants/contracts are closed in a timely manner.

Drafts Financial Report Submissions

Complete and submit federal reports by established internal and external deadlines. This includes, but is not limited to, monthly semi-annual, annual, interim and final federal reports. Monitor Period of Performance for each grant to complete federal reports in a timely manner.

Customer Service

Serves as the FBO Grants Unit contact for assigned grants and/or contracts responsible for answering questions related to the division’s awards. This may include, but is not limited to, RATS entry information, agency grant policies, cost tracking sheet. Works with immediate supervisor to gather information or answers to questions if unknown. Participates in internal and external meetings and follows-up with both internal and external employees. Keeps immediate supervisor informed about emerging issues. Works collectively as a team with the Revenue Section. Serves as back-up to the Mail Clerk by sorting, opening, and scanning daily mail. Performs other related duties as required. 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Professional accounting skills, FLAIR knowledge, Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection.
  • Ability to develop and monitor policies and procedures relating to grant in-aid programs.
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze data relating to grant-in-aid programs.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to grant-in-aid programs.
  •  Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
