Job Description

The Florida Supreme Court Marshal’s Office is seeking a qualified candidate for the Accreditation & Training Coordinator position. This position is responsible for overseeing the agency’s accreditation processes, including providing regular updates and recommendations to the Marshal. The role involves coordinating the development and implementation of policies and procedures, as well as maintaining training records in compliance with the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC).

 

This position also serves as the back-up to the Administrative Assistant II, providing general administrative support to the Marshal’s Office. The ideal candidate should exhibit sound judgment and professionalism while handling sensitive assignments with discretion. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines are essential.

 

Examples of duties and work performed:

  • Acts as the liaison to the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) and ensures compliance with appropriate standards to maintain accreditation status.
  • Plans, coordinates, and participates in the research, evaluation, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, and training as they relate to state law and CFA standards. Reviews and recommends revisions to current polices to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, state law, and best practices. Disseminates new standards and statutory updates to the Marshal's Office staff as appropriate.
  • Remains apprised of all CFA revisions and updates, ensures policies are current, and maintains compliance with standards.
  • Reviews and coordinates the completion and submission of required reports, audits, and other documents for CFA. Prepares and submits annual reports to CFA.
  • Coordinates the collection of applicable documents required for proof of compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Maintains, reviews, scans, saves, and uploads appropriate accreditation documents to the CFA reporting system.
  • Plans and coordinates mock and on-site accreditation assessments.
  • Represents the agency at CFA conference and other conferences or meetings.
  • Coordinates with and advises the Marshal and command staff on accreditation standards to implement required training to agency personnel. Maintains internal training files as required by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC).
  • Provides back-up to the Administrative Assistant II, including but not limited to answering phones, scheduling/calendar, purchasing, budget management, and inventory.
  • Composes and types correspondence, memoranda, reports, and other documents observing strict confidentiality; maintains the agency's records management system.
  • Ensures effective communication and maintains a working relationship with members of the Supreme Court, the OSCA, and other court staff.
  • Act as the Marshal's Office point of contact for applicants, service providers, and vendors.
  • Coordinates and manages special events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Training Guidelines

Bachelor’s degree.

 

Experience: Refers to the amount of related work experience that is recommended for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the required tasks. Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.

 

Three years of work experience in business administration, office skills, or related field.

 

Preference will be given to candidates who have completed Accreditation Manager Training and/ or completed Assessor Training.
