General Summary

This is independent work coordinating administrative tasks and assignments and providing analysis and research on a variety of administrative matters.

 

Examples of Work Performed

  • Performs special assignments, research, and report preparation. 
  • Reviews records and reports which require action and recommends solutions or courses of action.
  • Assists supervisor in handling daily administrative duties and acts in matters where authority has been delegated.
  • Processes and prepares a variety of correspondence and secures information necessary for preparing replies.
  • Answers inquiries from Senators and other elected officials, legislative staff, and the public to assist supervisor and other staff of the unit.
  • Assists in reviewing draft requests for bills and amendments received by the office for completeness and coordinates with other offices as necessary.
  • Trains and supervises clerical and/or other administrative personnel to ensure accurate and smooth workflow of the unit. 
  • Assists in formulating and recommending programs and policies; interprets and administers policies.
  • Performs general office management duties.
  • Assists committee staff in ensuring the accuracy and completeness in actions taken by committees in reporting out meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Administrative experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
