General Summary
This is independent work coordinating administrative tasks and assignments and providing analysis and research on a variety of administrative matters.
Examples of Work Performed
- Performs special assignments, research, and report preparation.
- Reviews records and reports which require action and recommends solutions or courses of action.
- Assists supervisor in handling daily administrative duties and acts in matters where authority has been delegated.
- Processes and prepares a variety of correspondence and secures information necessary for preparing replies.
- Answers inquiries from Senators and other elected officials, legislative staff, and the public to assist supervisor and other staff of the unit.
- Assists in reviewing draft requests for bills and amendments received by the office for completeness and coordinates with other offices as necessary.
- Trains and supervises clerical and/or other administrative personnel to ensure accurate and smooth workflow of the unit.
- Assists in formulating and recommending programs and policies; interprets and administers policies.
- Performs general office management duties.
- Assists committee staff in ensuring the accuracy and completeness in actions taken by committees in reporting out meetings.
- Performs other related duties as required.

- Ability to pay attention to detail and review work for accuracy and quality of content.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Administrative experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
