Come be a part of the new paradigm and leadership as we work towards this important goal.  The Office of General Counsel is seeking an Assistant General Counsel at its Tallahassee Headquarters. Specifically, this position will represent the Department’s Office of Child care Regulation in litigation functions relating to regulatory enforcement and licensing issues. This position will also perform other tasks as assigned by the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsels. An ideal applicant will have a strong interest in protecting vulnerable populations and promoting strong and economically self-sufficient families, excellent academic credentials, and strong writing and communication skills. Our office functions as a team environment, which provides opportunities for our Assistant General Counsels to expand their legal skills and practice proficiency.

 

The job duties of this position will include:

 

•             Providing legal counsel to the Child care Regulation staff on its policy decisions, including applicable statutes and/or regulations.

•             Representing the Department in litigation involving Childcare Regulation, including administrative and civil matters.

•             Working with Child care Regulation to enhance enforcement activities.

•             Providing legal assistance to other areas within the Department, including other program areas.

•             Assisting Department employees with Open Government Issues.

•             Special Projects as assigned.
