Due to the job duties of this position, the work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday with an hour for lunch.
This position is NOT eligible for teleworking. Applicants will be required to work in the Tallahassee Office located at 1801 Hermitage Blvd.
Interview will consist of oral interview questions.
The salary range for this position is $40,000.00 - $84,533.60.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This is a professional position that provides service statewide for the Deferred Compensation Program. The Deferred Compensation Program authorized under Section 457(b), Internal Revenue Service Code provides employees’ a way to supplement retirement savings income by contributing to a variety of investment and bank products. The Bureau’s objective is to assist state employees in achieving financial security in their retirement years.
- Provides quality customer service to all participants and State employees. Receives incoming telephone calls and electronic messages in support of our customer service function. Gathers the pertinent information from callers in order to answer questions pertaining to the Plan, federal and state laws/regulations, and the policies and procedures of the Bureau to state employees, current participants, and Investment Providers (IP). Communicates detailed information concerning available investment options. Distribute information about the Plan upon request. All knowledge of a participants personally identifiable information (PII) are to always be protected and kept confidential.
- Independently analyzes requests to ensure participants meet all the eligibility requirements as set forth in the Plan document, State and Federal laws/regulations. Handle complex situations. Evaluates and determines that the required documents are complete and accurate. Organizes and processes participant requests/transactions including, Distributions, Unforeseeable Emergency Withdrawals, Company to Company Transfers, Loans, Rollovers, Purchase of Prior Service Credits Validates and reconciles with participant’s account information. Coordinates with IP and Record Keeper to expediently resolve discrepancies to avoid any unnecessary delays in transactions. Research and find a solution to discrepancies received from a participant.
- Analyze, maintain, and enter participant’s PII into the Complete Access of Participant Records Information (CAPRI) database system. Interface with FL PALM to perform functions as needed for the Bureau. Maintains database of participant forms and related participant records.
- Prepares IP authorization for the requested transaction from the participant’s account. Audits transactions, initiates correction of errors, and adjusts as needed due to changes or cancellations on assigned transactions. Authenticates electronic documentation in CAPRI to reflect completion of the transactions which is used in preparation for status reports and external audits. Validates electronic documentation of processed transactions.
- Reviews and prepares correspondence to participants, beneficiaries, and IPs to obtain pertinent information required to respond appropriately to requests for services related to the Plan. Counsels’ participants on Plan transactions and related IRS rules as requested. Coordinates with IPs to rectify any pending actions.
- Provide backup support for additional Deferred Compensation Programs during staff absences and other work as assigned.
