Bridge Information Manager, State Maintenance Office, Structures Maintenance
This position is responsible for managing and supporting FDOT’s bridge information systems, policies, and reporting, while providing technical coordination, user support, data analysis, and process improvements to ensure efficient statewide bridge management.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and administer bridge information. Serve as Central Office Site Coordinator for AASHTOWare Bridge Management (BrM) and the Department’s Bridge Management System (BMS). Provide user support in the implementation and use of bridge information including providing user support to District, consultant and Central Office users. Provide testing as needed for BrM system updates.
Assist the State Bridge Inspection Engineer (SBIE) in the development, administration, and implementation of policies, procedures and standards concerning information management for the Statewide Bridge program and preparing reports for submittal to Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and others within the Department. Prepare performance measures as requested.
Assist the State Bridge Maintenance and Repair Engineer (SBMRE) by providing support for the development of the Bridge Work Plan for both state and local bridges for periodic reporting and monitoring. Assist the SBMRE in preparing reports for submittal to the FHWA, FDOT, and other state agencies, as needed.
Assist in managing updates and improvements to the Department’s Transportation Asset Management Plan (TAMP). Assists the Districts in the use of BrM’s Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) Optimization module to help determine appropriate repair, rehab and replacement methodologies for bridges in accordance with the Bridge Replacement Program. Provide yearly evaluation of funding levels using BrM to the Work Program Office.
Prepare and analyze bridge information and assist in making management determinations involving the District Quality Assurance Reviews. Assist in managing statewide maintenance operational data for management reporting.
Functional Expert and Technical support for the Structure Management Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). This includes responding to district questions, calls and security issues.
Technical coordinator for the Comprehensive Bridge Report (CBR). Responsibilities include researching and gathering current department bridge statistics, utilizing this information to populate the department’s bridge information into a spreadsheet and then publishing this information to the department’s website on a quarterly basis.
Provide technical assistance in the area of bridge maintenance inspection reporting to District Structures Maintenance offices, the Office of Maintenance and the State Permits Office.
Functional Application Coordinator for AASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR). This would include Office of Information Technologies (OIT) liaison.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Transportation engineering concepts, terminology, principles and analytical techniques.
- Bridge Inspections, Load Ratings, Design, and/or Construction.
- Knowledge of Life Cycle Cost Analysis Principles.
- FDOT Standards, Policies, and Procedures.
- BrM and BrR systems.
Skills in:
- Use of computer programs.
- Managing organizational resources in support of FDOT’s mission.
- Dealing with the public and others in a tactful and courteous manner.
Ability to:
- Effectively communicate in written form as well as orally
- Provide guidance, meet deadlines, and solve problems relating to engineering.
Other Job-Related Requirements:
- This position will be required to respond before, during and following emergency situations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Obtain a High School Diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency.
