Duties and Responsibilities

This position reviews purchase requisitions (PRs) in MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) to ensure compliance with funding, account codes, and operational requirements and tracks them in budget analysis worksheets.The role manages user access and provides system support for MFMP, P-Card Works, and Statewide Travel Management System (STMS), serving as the key point of contact for budget, procurement, and payment-related inquiries across the state. Additionally, this position reviews FLAIR accounting transactions and budget reports, monitors expenditure and encumbrances to ensure budget availability, responds to requests for budgetary information, and analyzes monthly P-Card transactions to identify trends and resolve potential issues. This position collaborates with field personnel to research and resolve unusual or complex financial transactions, assists with the preparation of the Division’s Legislative Budget Request (LBR), as well as other administrative duties.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the State of Florida budget process.
  • Knowledge of the State of Florida’s purchasing policies, and eProcurement System.
  • Knowledge of the State of Florida’s accounting policies, procedures and accounting codes.
  • Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, polices, and procedures.
  • Ability to research and analyze financial data and compile the data into organized, reader-friendly reports.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with a team.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments to meet required deadlines.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Skill in communicating effectively with internal and external customers in a tactful, courteous, and non-judgmental manner.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel related to creating and updating budget spreadsheets for financial reporting.
  • Experience working with FLAIR.
  • Experience in the procurement process in MFMP.
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of business mathematics and accounting and be able to apply these to work and job requirements.
  • An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience in accounting or budget.

 

 

Job Related Requirements:

  • The position you are applying for is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes.  Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all applicants’ criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged. 

 

General Information:

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.  Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month.  All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
