Position Description:
CCRC-N is seeking a highly experienced accountant to handle all accounting duties as the agency’s sole accountant. Qualified candidates must have excellent organizational skills and be able to perform complex accounting functions in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and State of Florida financial requirements. This position works in direct concert with the Administrative Services Director, the Executive Assistant, and with the CCRC-N Agency Head.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities for the Accountant IV position at CCRC-N include, but are not limited to: accurately maintaining financial records and reports; processing all financials on behalf of CCRC-N; reviewing invoices for accuracy and required information; entering authorizations; preparing purchase authorizations; obtaining accurate receipts; reviewing and periodically drafting travel vouchers when necessary and submitting for payment; electronic processing of travel authorizations and reimbursements through the State Travel Management (STMS) platform; processing Purchasing Card level 2 approvals in PCard Works; reconciling financial accounts; maintaining account ledgers; preparing financial quarterly reports; assisting in budget preparation and balance.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or finance, and at least five years of professional accounting experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: accounting and auditing principles, theory, and concepts; accounting systems; internal control concepts; cloud-based systems; Microsoft Word, and Excel. Ability to: analyze and interpret financial data; perform cost/benefit analyses; balance and reconcile accounts; make present value calculations; prepare financial reports; communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing; work independently and with minimal supervision; perform duties within time constraints and meet deadlines; and work in a team environment.
