$34,760.00 - $36,248.00 Annually $1,336.92 - $1,394.15 Bi-weekly
Position Summary
This is a highly responsible administrative support position in the Consumer Directed Care Plus (CDC+) Unit which requires significant attention to detail. This position will assist in providing technical assistance and support to consumers, representatives, consultants, APD state office and regional staff and others regarding the CDC+ program related issues. Employees are responsible for and will safely retain all CDC+ consumer PHI information according to Agency guidelines.
The Work You Will Do
Provides direct, individualized technical assistance to program participants and their support systems to resolve individual issues.
Prints, logs-in and saves in the corresponding electronic file all in-coming documents received via the CDC+ documents in-box and drop box on a daily basis.
Answers the phone and maintains a professional, courteous and friendly demeanor at all times. Assists with coverage of the customer service line, as a back-up, when needed, providing research and problem resolution and notification of customers when problems are corrected. Logs all incoming and outgoing calls with their outcome in the unit’s customer service database.
Performs accurate review and processing of CDC+ Program Consumer Application and Enrollment Documents, Provider information, EFT, Tax forms and related documentation in the Purchasing Plan application (CDCPP) and payment claims system (CDCFEA).
Responsible for developing an initial Budget Calculation Worksheet for all new enrollees whose application is ready for processing and sends the application to the expanded team for entry.
Processes Participant information update forms and communicates indicated changed within the form to appropriate CDC+ staff members.
Mails out packets for the Consumer Directed Care Unit, logs all incoming correspondence, forwards to appropriate staff and/or follows up, as appropriate. Maintains a log of applicants requesting CDC+ training materials and mails at their request.
Provides direct, individualized technical assistance to program participants and their support systems to resolve individual issues.
Archives CDC+ records and requests retrieval of records, as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must have data entry experience using Word and Excel.
- Must have experience reviewing documents for medical necessity.
- Must be able to work independently.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Medicaid or demonstrated ability to learn and communicate complex information.
Ability to:
- Work independently.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Demonstrate Skills in:
- Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Evaluation design, outcome measurement, data analysis and written data reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including proficiency with public speaking.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
Background Screening Requirement
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
