The Office of Supplier Development is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Certification Coordinator to administer the state’s certification and recertification processes. In this role, you will review applications, verify eligibility, and issue certification decisions that help expand Florida small business participation in public procurement.

This role offers a unique blend of technical review, customer service, and educational outreach. You will provide clear guidance and support to Florida small businesses navigating the certification process, and work with our marketing team to develop materials that explain both the process and its value as necessary.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, a strong communicator, and passionate about promoting access to contracting opportunities. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate certification records, addressing vendor questions or concerns, and supporting the integrity of the certification process.

Position responsibilities:

•    Administer the state’s certification and recertification processes, including application intake, eligibility review, and approval or denial of certifications.

•    Provide information and technical assistance to businesses seeking certification or recertification.

•    Communicate with customers throughout the certification process, including leading pre- and post-certification workshops.

•    Track and report certification-related data, such as application volume, approvals, denials, and regional distribution.

•    Collaborate with internal teams to address vendor concerns and ensure consistent, transparent certification practices.

•    Promote new certified businesses among state agency procurement professionals and other interested groups.

•    Assist the Office of Supplier Development team as needed.

 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•    Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

•    Proficient in using Microsoft office products.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

•    Experience in certification, compliance, or regulatory processes preferred

•    Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

•    Comfortable working independently and collaboratively

•    Public sector or customer service experience
